Here Comes the Sun
It's Dyngus Day, and I couldn't be happier. Not about the Polish spring-rites celebration, or the funny name; but just because the trees are budded out, the Baltimore oriole's nest from last year is almost falling off its branch (so I can pick it up when it does, and stash it somewhere for further examination), and the ground, while not green, is visible again.
Friends are starting seeds in containers for transplant in late May, after the last frost is surely past. I'm taking a day off this week to work in the attic and the basement, cleaning and organizing things into clear labeled bins. I saw two robins last week darting across the snow-tamped grass of the front lawn. The crocuses are up.
Even if it snows again this month, it's ok; we made it through.
